“Blank” is the 1st thought when its time to select / suggest
/ shortlist a place to eat out, at least that’s how it works (or used to work!)
with me. To make the selection process a bit simpler for you, this blog is
categorized not by cuisine, location or rankings but by the type of outing you
might be in the mood for - simple casual, fine dining or just a quick bite on
the go. I would be adding more categories - brunches, b’fast and lounges but
would also be more than happy to create a category you might think relevant.
For a very quick summery, just have a look at the ratings (5 is
excellent and 0 is, well 0!). Personally I feel that one very important aspect
of a meal out, is that on the way back home you shouldn’t feel the need to stop
at a McD’s; hence the “Food Quantity” or the “Dish Portion” ratings. The “Food
Quality” is judged mainly on taste and freshness of the ingredients and
depending on the type of restaurant I would also consider plating, presentation
and innovative thinking. The overall “value for money” I judge on the basis of
the food quality and portions, service and ambiance. The important thing to
note is that the ratings are relative and hence the reason why a dhaba might
have the same ratings as a top end, fine dine restaurant.
Please feel free to let me know if there is anything with which you do
not agree; but remember I called it as I saw it, without any prejudice or
ulterior motives. My only motivation is having a good time (translation- eating
& drinking) and aiding you in having one, or at least saving you from not
having one!
